How to Download a Public YouTube Video
Copy the URL for one publicly accessible YouTube video and paste it above. VideoSave analyzes a single item, not a playlist, and can continue only when the video does not require login and supplies compatible video and audio formats.
Download a YouTube Video in 4 Steps
Copy one video URL
Use the link for an individual public YouTube video rather than a playlist.
Check access and limits
Select Analyze to inspect availability, duration, and public metadata.
Set a resolution ceiling
Choose Best or a maximum height for compatible H.264 and AAC formats.
Download the checked MP4
Save the result after both the MP4 container and its streams are validated.
YouTube Resolution and Codec Compatibility
YouTube can expose multiple video and audio formats for one URL. VideoSave selects H.264 video and AAC audio that fit the requested height, then can combine or remux those streams into MP4. It does not transcode arbitrary source codecs into H.264.
Best selects the highest compatible pair found, while 1080p, 720p, and 480p are ceilings rather than promises. A higher source format cannot be used when it does not meet the output requirements. See the video-to-MP4 page.
One Public Video at a Time
Playlist downloading is disabled. Submit an individual public video that does not require account credentials or membership.
YouTube Checks Can Block Access
Sign-in, age, membership, regional, or platform-verification checks can prevent server-side extraction even when a URL works in your signed-in browser.
