How to Download a Public Facebook Video
Copy a link that opens the Facebook video without requiring a signed-in account or private-group membership. Paste it above and select Analyze. VideoSave can continue only if the redirect target remains public and exposes a compatible source format.
Download a Facebook Video in 4 Steps
Copy the public video link
Use a link that opens the Facebook video without private access or login.
Validate the destination
Paste the link so VideoSave can validate redirects and inspect the public video.
Choose a height limit
Select Best, 1080p, 720p, or 480p as a ceiling for available formats.
Save the validated file
Download only after the MP4 video and audio streams pass output validation.
How Facebook MP4 Selection Works
For Facebook URLs, VideoSave first looks for a suitable MP4 file within the selected height limit. When separate compatible streams are available, it can combine H.264 video with AAC audio and remux the result into an MP4 container.
Best chooses the highest compatible result found. The numeric choices are maximum heights, so 1080p can return a lower resolution and will not upscale the Facebook source. Read more on the video-to-MP4 page.
Public Facebook Access Required
Links from private groups, friends-only posts, or pages that ask the server to sign in cannot be processed.
Share Links May Resolve Differently
VideoSave validates each redirect for a publicly routable HTTP(S) destination, then checks whether the extractor can access the video. Removed, restricted, or login-required content may fail.
